Fulltime: Barcelona with a massive 5-2 win over Betis. However, Rakitic didn’t play a single minute! Barcelona plays well and scores five goals. By Rafa Hernandez.
For most of the match, until Busquets left I had no idea what Frenkie De Jong was supposed to be playing as. An aberration of a setup, he needs to be played more centrally, and he can play deeper alongside Busi too.
Happy for Carles Perez. Deserved that goal, worked hard from the beginning of the match and didn’t let his mistakes get to his head, kept trying and was rewarded.
The thrashing will make Betis learn that Setien made them a lot better than they actually are…
We don’t need Neymar, Griezmann has hit the ground running and he’ll become Messi’s most valuable partner upfront. Furthermore, the Frenchman led the team excellently. He is tireless, helps defensively, his combination plays are among the best in the world among forwards, and he’s simply exceptional in interpreting the matches.
Griezmann delivered a masterclass in Messi’s absence, but the main highlight was Ansu Fati’s debut. Not only that, but the 16 year old impressed and played well too!
Barcelona needed this win, let’s hope it continues this way. Messi will be back next week.
