Back again after another important weeks rest for the squad, Barça are finally back in La Liga action in yet another vitally important game in the league campaign. This time around we’re on the road, travelling away to the Canary Islands to face Las Palmas. A team that has already caused us problems early on in the season, despite their difficult form in the league itself. They really do sum up the fact that you can’t underestimate anyone or any team in this league, there’s no easy game. And especially tonight away from home, it’s not going to be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination. Learning lessons from the past will be key in tonight’s game, so let’s jump straight into the preview.
A quick look at our opponents:
As far as our opponent for tonight’s game, they really have been struggling so far this season and are in a fight to keep their place in the league itself. However as I’ve already said, even despite that, we still can’t go into this game underestimating them or thinking it will be an easy one. With their position in the league, it means they’re going to be fighting in every game, they’ve got something to play for, just like us. So it will definitely be a fiercely contested match later tonight.
It’s also a special game for our very own magician from the canaries, Pedri, as this is the first time he’ll be playing away at Las Palmas since we bought him all those years ago as a teenager. So they’ll be a lot of emotions from both sides in this game, we just need to make the most of it. Learn the lessons from our last meeting. With all that being said however, it will be a tense 90 minutes of football that’s for sure. Let’s see how we could possibly lineup!
Predicted lineup:
Fortunately for us as a squad, we’ve had a full week’s rest since our last game at home to Rayo Vallecano. Which, ahead of a really intense month in March, has been vital for us to try and rest the squad. March is going to be a very tough month with some monumental fixtures, not only in La Liga, but in the Copa Del Rey and Champion’s league.
Tonight is also a vital game in our league campaign, so it’ll be interesting to see if Flick decides to go with his strongest eleven, or if there are a few tweaks here and there.
Seeing as we’ve had a week off, I believe we’ll go strong. Araujo and Casado could make their way back into the starting lineup and I’d also be looking at starting Ferran Torres again from the number 9 position to give us more of an unpredictability in the forward areas. As for the rest of the team I’d imagine it would be a straightforward choice for Flick. For me, I’d love to see Gavi from a deeper position alongside Pedri instead of as the 10, and that could be a possibility. However let’s wait to see what the coach decides later tonight!
My starting 11:
Tek
Kounde- Araujo- Iñigo- Balde
Pedri- Casado
Yamal- Olmo- Raphinha
Ferran
