As the transfer window intensifies, @blaugranagram is here to recap the Griezmann update. Will Barça can actually afford the purchases of Neymar and Griezmann?
Griezmann should sign this weekend

This morning, Barça intensified their move for Antoine Griezmann in order to close the deal. Furthermore, they want to present the player prior to Sunday. Moreover, he can be ready for preseason Monday. [@gerardromero]
Griezmann is in Ibiza waiting for Barça to pay his release clause, and Barça’s plan is to have him ready for preseason Monday. [SPORT]
Barça will pay his €120M release clause, and won’t include Semedo. He’ll sign in the coming days. [@FabrizioRomano]
Given the complications this far, I imagine the announcement of the transfer by Friday. Moreover, I see the presentation happening on Sunday. However, If things speed up, he could be announced tonight, but I highly doubt that. We’ll be waiting for another Griezmann update.
Griezmann money being an issue to fund?
I could see it being true, which also could be why Barça were looking to pay in installments, but then again, it’ll most likely be resolved soon if that indeed is the case. Barça want him for preseason.
Barça looking to pay in installments also is a reason for why the release clause hasn’t been paid yet (considering they also want Neymar, they can’t just splash all the cash on Griezmann). So while I could see this being true, I also think it’ll be resolved within this week.
As I’ve said countless times that on twitter, I don’t expect Atléti to accept a transfer in installments. Therefore, I think Barça will pay the release clause. I still stand by that, and I do think that that’s what they’ll end up doing.
