According to recent reports in Germany, Newcastle have made contact with Youssoufa Moukoko to start negotiations for his transfer on a free at the end of the season when his Borussia Dortmund deal expires. Just like Barcelona, the English club sees Moukoko as a future star, and they want to attract him with their ambitious project, and with loads of money.
Barcelona are following Moukoko for a long time now, and are seeing him as the long term striker who will eventually replace Lewandowski. According to Gerard Romero, the club even wanted to bring the youngster in January. However, due to the new FFP rules, the only way to bring Moukoko would be on a free transfer in the summer.
Meanwhile, English clubs will try to sign him in January. Newcastle are joining the race for the young striker who until now was related to both Barcelona and Chelsea. Moukoko is a Barcelona fan, and we already know that the club contacted him. However, the young gem focuses on the season, and his first priority is still to stay in Dortmund.
The striker has six goals in the first 14 weeks of the season and at 18 is one of the most promising youngsters in world football.
Newcastle, now in the hands of Saudi Arabia, want to take a leap forward in quality and are looking at FFP rules to make sure any big offer for Moukoko will fit within them.
