In the final minutes of Barcelona’s victory over Atlético Madrid on Sunday, Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic got into a ‘wrestling’ match in the pitch after a battle for the ball. This prompted a red card for both and they have subsequently both been prohibited for two games.
Ferran will miss the league games against Getafe and Girona. In these two games, Barça will also be without Robert Lewandowski through suspension.
Ferran’s red was the third red card for Barça players in the last three games. An abnormal situation. Jordi Alba was sent off for two bookings against Espanyol and missed the Atletico win.
