In the case of the French center-back, Barça is trying to unravel his departure. It seemed that everything was on track for Tottenham, where he played on loan last year. But the English team is extending the process to see if they can get him out for less money. At Barcelona, at the same time, they were negotiating with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr. They even reached an agreement. But the player was not up for the job. They offered him a good contract, assuming his high wage, but the defender wants to continue competing in Europe at the highest level.
Tottenham’s interest persists. At Barça, as MD already reported, they hope to unblock the situation. Taking advantage of the fact that the English club is playing the Joan Gamper Trophy tomorrow in Montjuïc. The sporting directors of the two clubs hope to exchange good impressions and find a solution. Lenglet is also for the task of continuing in England.
Another more complicated case seems to be that of Sergiño Dest. The American right back went unnoticed by Milan, where he played on loan last year. At Barça they are looking to sell him but there is no solvent offer for the defender. It will be difficult for him to get a place in the team. The club is already seeking solutions of selling Dest this summer. But in the Catalan club they already assume that he will surely have to go out on loan again except for surprise.
It is true that Dest has had several options in the Major Soccer League (MLS). But the United States International prefers to continue in Europe. He will wait until the end of the market to see if he can have a team that attracts him enough.
