While FC Barcelona try to secure the signing of Joao Cancelo from Manchester City and also Iván Fresneda from Valladolid the club wish to offload a couple of players. One of those players is Sergiño Dest.
According to Mundo Deportivo PSV Eindhoven are willing to acquire the services of the 22 year old USA international. PSV would assume a large part of his salary: €10.7 million gross. Dest would then return to the Eredivisie. It was in 2020 the player, born in Almere (Netherlands), left Ajax and joined Barcelona for €21 million fixed plus variables. Bayern Munich and many other clubs were also interested in Dest in 2020.
However, PSV must also fight off competition from Nice and an unnamed English club. Barcelona are looking to sell Dest to free up some salary space to register 3 players: Marcos Alonso, Iñaki Peña and new signing Inigo Martinez.
Last season AC Milan signed Dest on a one year loan deal. However it didn’t work out as in the Serie A Dest only played 8 games, of which he started 2, scored zero goals and committed 1 penalty. Wherever he decides to go we all wish Sergiño Dest the best.
