In an exciting development, FC Barcelona has successfully secured the signing of Vitor Hugo Roque Ferreira, widely known as Vitor Roque, from Club Athletico Paranaense.
The highly anticipated deal will see the Brazilian forward join the club for the 2024/25 season. Vitor Roque has committed to a contract that extends until the end of the 2030/31 season, with a staggering release clause set at €500 million.
If FFP limits will allow it, VR9 will arrive earlier. Either in January, or even later this summer.
A Versatile Center Forward
Vitor Roque is a versatile center forward with exceptional skills. Standing at 1.72 meters, his agility allows him to adapt and play on either flank when required. He is praised for his ability to link up with teammates, lightning-fast movements, and his knack for finding the back of the net.
Despite being just 18 years old, Vitor Roque has already amassed nearly 50 league appearances. Six of those matches came during his time at Cruzeiro when he made his debut at the age of 16 in the Serie B, Brazil’s second division. A little over a year ago, Athletico Paranaense recognized his talent and brought him on board, allowing him to make the jump to the Serie A and compete in the Copa Libertadores. Despite his youth, he boasts an impressive number of matches in the top-tier Brazilian league, as well as in the esteemed continental competition.
Top Scorer at the U-20 South American Championship
Earlier this year, Vitor Roque captivated the football world with his outstanding performance in the U-20 South American Championship. As a crucial member of the Brazilian national team, the young striker played an instrumental role in securing victory for the Canarinha, with six goals to his name. It was no surprise that he emerged as the tournament’s top scorer. Having conquered South American football, Vitor Hugo Roque Ferreira will soon have the opportunity to showcase his goal-scoring prowess against FC Barcelona’s rivals.
