2 days until the fiscal year is over, and Barcelona are on a rush to get as much revenue possible. The main focus is selling, which is mandatory in order to start the summer in a good situation, FFP wise. Brozovic, Vitor Roque and other deals will be much easier to achieve with a good yearly report. One of the players that might get the club money in the coming days is Franck Kessie, with an offer from Saudi Arabia already on the table.
However, there’s a dilemma. From Barcelona’s part, it looks like the Saudi offer is not the price that the club have set. 20M will be a good revenue for a player that arrived for free. But it’s not the 35M that the club hoped to get for him. However, even the Saudis know that the club is in a rush to sell. That’s not a good place to be in a negotiation.
In my opinion, if 20M will help the club reach 1:1 on FFP, I would take the money. But if the club will be on 1:2, there’s no rush to sell.
Moreover, it looks like Franck Kessie is not convinced with the offer he received. It will take some convincing and probably more money to sign him.
Interest from Chelsea
It was reported earlier that Franck Kessie would prefer to stay. But if he has to go, he would like to move to the Premier League. A move to Chelsea might suit him. But there’s no offer on the table from them.
The transfer window is about to start. Will we see some developments before July? The next days will be filled with rumors.
Franck Kessie arrived for a free transfer last year after winning the Serie A title. Now, he’s already the champion of Spain. But with the signing of Gundogan, it looks like it will be hard for him to get playing time. The best thing for him might be to leave. And the club, it will be a good move financially.
