FC Barcelona is reportedly on the brink of securing a promising new talent, Allen Obando, from Ecuador. A club insider recently shared exciting details on a local Ecuadorian radio station, Sucre FM Deportes, sparking anticipation among fans and sports analysts alike.
Allen Obando, currently shining at Barcelona de Guayaquil, has caught the eye of Barca’s Sporting Director, Deco. Antonio Alvarez, an aspiring president for the Ecuadorian club, shared his insights after a recent trip to Barcelona. “This Monday, I visited the club and was impressed by their high-performance center and the Johan Cruyff Stadium,” Alvarez recounted. He spent quality time discussing Obando’s potential with Rafa Yuste, Barcelona’s sporting vice-president, and Deco.
The discussions seem fruitful as Alvarez continued, “We watched the recent match between Barca and Rayo Vallecano live, further discussing Allen’s future over these past few days.” The involvement of Obando’s family, including his father Carlos, during these talks underscores the seriousness of Barcelona’s interest.
From Barcelona to Barcelona?
At just 17 years old, Allen Obando has already made nine senior appearances. Including a notable debut in the Copa Libertadores. With a goal and two assists to his name, he is set to turn 18 next month, making him eligible to cross the Atlantic and join the Catalan giants.
The cost to acquire Obando remains undisclosed. Butspeculations suggest that he could be a more economical option compared to Brazilian striker Vitor Roque. His potential signing aligns with Barcelona’s strategy to nurture young, dynamic talents who can evolve into future stars.
This imminent signing could not only boost Barcelona’s offensive lineup in the long term. But it will also reinforce their commitment to developing young players capable of carrying the team’s legacy forward. Fans and analysts will undoubtedly keep a close eye on how this South American pearl adapts to European football’s challenges and opportunities.
