Barça will host Villarreal this Thursday (9:00 p.m. CET) with the aim of putting an end to the recent poor run of results. One of the great absentees from the duel at the Camp Nou will be Juan Foyth. The defender of the ‘yellow submarine’ was related to a possible signing for Barça last summer.
Foyth (24 years old) was an alternative to reinforce the right back after the option of signing César Azpilicueta did not come to fruition. But Villarreal referred to his termination clause (42 million that later rose to 54) to let the footballer out. Therefore, there was no agreement with Barça. Foyth was injured at the end of August in the match against Getafe, suffering a post-traumatic contusion on his left knee. He will not be available for Unai Emery tomorrow.
In addition to Foyth, Villarreal also has the notable absences of their top scorer Gerard Moreno. The striker got injured in the hamstrings, and Francis Coquelin, with a contracture in his calf. None will be at the Camp Nou. However, the ‘yellow submarine’ could recover Giovani Lo Celso and Etienne Capoué after both rested against Osasuna due to some minor inconvenience. By his part, the ex Barcelona player Kiko Femenía returned to training and it’s not yet clear if he’ll play.
