Can Hugo Guillamón be a serious option for Barça? It’s no secret that Barça are looking to find someone to replace Busi all over Europe. The media mentioned players like Kante, Jorginho, Tielemens and Ruben Neves as possible options. However, Barça also looks at the domestic market when looking for objectives with which to strengthen the squad. The problem is that some of the players that can have a place in the culé squad are well tied by their clubs.
One of those players that there are good reports about is Hugo Guillamón. The former center back established himself as a pivot in Valencia under Gennaro Gattuso. At 22 years old, Hugo Guillamón is an undisputed starter as a ‘pivot’, leaving someone like Nico Gonzalez on the bench.
As a center-back he already stood out for his good ball output. Last season Jose Bordalás him as a pivot, and those capacities have been ‘in crescendo’ at the orders of Gattuso. His passes breaking lines of pressure and his good ability to steal balls, have even led to Luis Enrique to notice him. He has a contract with Valencia until 2026, with a release clause of around 50 million.
