On Monday there was another meeting between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and the super agent Jorge Mendes. According to SPORT, the two dined in a well-known restaurant in the city.
The meeting between the two served to talk about many players, like Trincao, Nico, Di María, Rúben Neves or Bernardo Silva, who have all been linked directly or indirectly with leaving or joining Barça this summer.
This transfer window is proving one of the most complex in the club’s history and patience is needed. The team returned to training on Monday and have their first friendly on July 13 against Olot.
One of the names on the table in the Laporta-Mendes meeting will be Trincao. The Portugal winger has returned from Wolves, who haven’t taken their option to sign up, and is not in Xavi’s plans.
His future could be at Sporting Club de Lisbon in his homeland.
Another rumor suggests that Sevilla asked Mendes to help selling Jules Kounde. Don’t know how much truth there is in that rumor.
And, of course, you can’t say Jorge Mendes without Cristiano Ronaldo. The more sensationalist media channels jumped and said Jorge Mendes offered Cristiano to Laporta. There’s no way for that to happen.
Last year Mendes tried to warn Real Madrid by offering Cristiano to Barça. Just like he did with Manchester United (offering him to Man City). It didn’t work.
So, watch out for fake news.
