A huge win last night for Barcelona vs Mallorca. After 3 losses in a row at home, Barca are finally back to the winning ways. Although the end of the game was a little shaky, we can say that Xavi’s team dominated for the most parts. Moreover, we got to Ansu Fati back, and that’s great! With Sevilla and Atletico dropping points, Barca are one step closer to secure the 2nd place in the league.
First Half – Welcome back, Memphis!
Mallorca came to Barcelona aiming to use the bad form of the ‘Xavineta’. However, Xavi’s team started strong, and after 6 minutes Auba was close to score. Gavi with a lovely cross found the striker, but the goalkeeper saved it.
Pique started suffering from his discomfort from the first minutes, and Mallorca tried to take advantage of it. In the 19th minute Mallorca almost did it, but Fer Nino missed his chance. Who knows what would have happened if he’d score.
At the 23rd minute, Alba crossed the ball and Araujo was there to score the goal. However, the Uruguayan was in an off-side position, and the goal was ruled out.
2 minutes later, Jordi alba passed the ball to Memphis, and the Dutch forwards scored the goal. 1-0 to Barca! It’s the 9th assist for Alba this season. This is the most by a defender in a La Liga campaign since Marcelo with Real Madrid in 2016-17 (10) and the most by a Barcelona defender since Dani Alves in 2011-12 (11).
At the 28th minute, enough was enough for Gerard Pique, and Eric Garcia came on to replace him. Hopefully the center back will be back vs Betis next weekend.

Second Half
The 2nd half started well for Barcelona, and the players managed to score the 2nd goal pretty fast. At the 54th minute, Sergio Busquets to the ball at the edge of the era, and scored the goal with his left foot. Great goal for the legendary midfielder.
After the goal, Take Kubo entered the game for Mallorca, getting boos and whistles from the fans at the stadium. The Japanese talent entered the game and did some things well. However, it wasn’t enough to get something for Mallorca.
At the 73rd minute, Ferran Torres scored the goal for Barca, but the ball deflected from Auba who was offside. Therefore, another goal ruled out for Barcelona last night vs Mallorca.
