Despite a long list of absentees, Barça came back home with the 3 points after the match vs Mallorca yesterday. It wasn’t an easy game, but in the end the players that were available to Xavi did their job. But how did they do individually? Let’s take a look.
Defense
GK: Ter Stegen – 7.5/10 His ball distribution was great, while also making crucial saves to help Barcelona keep the 3 points.
RB: Mingueza – 7.5/10 Finally hitting form, as he provided an assist and made 3 accurate crosses. Defensively, he was solid as well.
CB: Eric Garcia – 7/10 Was not bad at all, as he aerially he did decent, but positioning has to improve.
CB: Pique – 8/10 An excellent display from the Spaniard, as he did his job well. Defensively he was a monster, and his ball distribution was fantastic.
LB: Araujo – 7.5/10 After this match, Araujo has played in all 3 different defensive positions this season, as it goes from centre back, right back and now left back. Defensively he was solid, and offensively he made a great effort with 2 key passes registered.
Midfield
CM: Nico Gonzalez – 7/10 Held on to possession very well, but his influence in the final third was non existent.
DM: Frenkie De Jong – 7/10 A decent performance from De Jong, knowing of his talent and abilities. He was very active in the opposition’s half and, played out some good passes.
CM: Puig – 7/10 Receiving a chance to revive his Barca career, Puig was not bad. He was relentless, and his energetic presence helped the team.
Attack
RW: Ilias – 7/10 A very good performance from the youngster, as he looked very active on the right flank. He made a few chances, and dribbling was good as well. The future looks bright for him.
ST: Luuk De Jong – 8/10 A surprising performance from Luuk De Jong, as he scored the goal that ultimately won the game for Barca, with a headed effort. He could’ve scored more goals, as he hit the woodwork a few times.
LW: Jutgla – 6/10 A below average performance from Jutgla as he was not effective in attack, although, his off the ball performance must be acknowledged.
Substitutes
- Sanz: 6/10 Made his debut, and was brought in some momentum
- Lenglet: 6/10 Was decent at the back, nothing too big.
- Pedrola: 6/10 Couldn’t do anything because of his time given.
