Therefore, the club wants to sit down with them and analyse their situation after the latest debacles. Their wages are very high. However, Lionel Messi does not enter this equation because Joan Laporta’s will is to renew the captain at all costs.
At the sports level and at the marketing and business level Messi’s continuity is essential.
But apart from Messi, there are players who form the backbone of the team and who have won a lot for the club but have also been part of recent debacles such as Rome, Anfield, Lisbon, PSG and the recent ones in La Liga.
Laporta’s wage policy
Joan Laporta plans to sit down with Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto and analyse their situation: what they contribute and how much they earn.
They will be asked to lower their salary according to their current performances since their role in the team will no longer be untouchable.
If they don’t agree, then the club will look for an honourable exit.
Other than them: Neto, Umtiti, Pjanić, Junior, Matheus, Coutinho and Braithwaite are on the transfer list.
