After another disappointing weekend, the Catalans had to get themselves together quickly because a Champions League game was in sight again. Koeman’s team is not in its best period. A win against Juventus would have been good for the team and the fans too. But unfortunately Juventus beat Fc Barcelona with three goals, and with that, the Catalans lost their first spot in the group. I don’t even have to say that is not the first time Barca puts up an embarrassing first half this season. Koeman’s starting 11 vs Juventus was predictable, and without any surprises, our best midfielder, Riqui Puig didn’t start. However, e came in the 66th minutes of the game. Let’s see how he did!
He replaced Pedri and played in his best position. We saw at the very begging how good is he and how big his impact on the team’s midfield. He constantly tried to put pressure on the Juventus defense and didn’t let the ball get out of his sight. It’s frustrating to watch that Koeman doesn’t see that Riqui is perfect for this team and would solve a few of our problems. He is better than Coutinho and Pedri, and the position he played in yesterday suited him very well. VS Juventus, Riqui Puig gave amazing passes to Messi, and even the Argentinian was surprised. He is the only one who can offer this to the midfield. He’s the midfielder Barca are missing for years after Xavi and Iniesta’s departure. He isn’t afraid to take risque passes and, with that confusing the whole defense of the opponent.
However, the only thing he has to work on is his finishing and the end product. If he can be more dangerous in front of the net, he can become one of the best midfielders in the world in a short time. The assists and goals will arrive as well if the coach lets him play for more than 30 minutes and give him chances week by week. However, et’s hope he doesn’t have to bear this unfair treatment from Koeman for too long. However, nything can happen after the elections.
