We’ve endured through the international break, once again. It’s a time none of us look forward to, but we’re at the end pf it now. And that means, club football is finally back. Barça are finally back in action! Tonight from 9pm local time, live from the Olympic stadium in Montjuic, Barcelona. It’s Barça against Sevilla. A historic La Liga match up that never disappoints. Games back from the international, sometimes, can be tricky. And Sevilla are a solid team too. So it wont be straightforward, but its the beginning of an incredibly difficult and challenging week for Barça, with Bayern and Real Madrid on the horizon. So lets jump straight into the match preview of Barça vs Sevilla!
A Quick Look at our opponents:
When it comes down to our opponent for tonight, Sevilla. They currently find themselves 12th in the table. Comfortably in mid table. 12 points on the board and only 4 above relegation. For the last few years they’ve been really inconsistent, fighting against relegation even. Which is just unthinkable for a club as big as Sevilla. Key players have been and gone, like Rakitic, Ramos etc. and now they’re relying on a core of young and experienced players, as well as some classic experience in La Liga. But despite that, they’re still going to be a difficult team to navigate. Despite the fact that their coach is Garcia Pimienta, they should be lining up in a low block. So for us, like always, its going to be tricky to break down. But that’s going to be the main focus, being clinical enough is important too. Lets have a look at how we will lineup:
Predicted lineup:
In terms of the lineup, ahead of a key few weeks against some really difficult teams, its going to be important to see the lineup for todays game and notice if Flick has one eye on the future fixtures. However, coming into the game today we have some incredible news. Olmo and Fermin Lopez are both all expected to return to the squad list for the game. But the piece of news that is even more exciting than that is the return of Gavi! After a year out of action, the heart and soul of Barcelona finally returns. And what an addition to Flick’s side. A tailor made player for his way of playing. He definitely wont start today, but id expect to see him get a few minutes of action just so he can hear the reaction of the fans at home. We will go strong tonight, the only question for me is whether or not Yamal will be rested after he came back early from international duty. I would rest him, but lets wait and see what Flick decides.
My starting 11:
Peña
Kounde- Cubarsi- Iñigo- Balde
Casado- Pedri
Raphinha- Fermin- Ansu
Lewandowski
