The future of Franck Kessié seems to be pointing towards Arabia Saudí. According to Matteo Moretto, the Ivorian midfielder is poised to leave FC Barcelona this summer. He only made a brief appearance during the club’s US tour. Al Ahli has emerged as the frontrunner to secure Kessié’s services, with his contract at Barça set to expire in 2026.
The deal is expected to be finalized later this week. FC Barcelona are demanding a transfer fee of 20 million euros for Kessié. However, negotiations are underway, and the Saudi club has offered 15 million euros. Both parties seem destined to reach a compromise, and the signing is expected to proceed smoothly. Kessié, who already has a medical scheduled in Paris, is set to sign a lucrative three-year contract, earning 20 million euros net per season.
As Kessié’s exit is on the horizon, the departure of Ousmane Dembélé is also imminent, with the skillful forward embarking on a new chapter with PSG for the next five seasons. These departures will pave the way for much-needed squad adjustments, opening opportunities for new signings like Iñigo Martínez and Gündoğan. FC Barcelona plans to allocate the incoming funds strategically, reinforcing various positions within the squad.
Juventus also expressed interest in Kessié. However, the Ivorian midfielder appears captivated by the allure of Saudi Arabian football, specifically at Al Ahli. There, he will join forces with Édouard Mendy, Riyad Mahrez, Firmino, and Saint-Maximin.
Deal imminent
In the coming hours, the future of the talented midfielder might be unveiled. He seems determined to venture into Saudi Arabian football, disregarding the interest from Italian clubs and Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea.
As FC Barcelona prepares for an exciting season, both departures and new signings are set to shape the team’s future under the guidance of Xavi Hernández. Stay tuned for further updates as the transfer window unfolds.
