The sports management of FC Barcelona continues to work on the preparation of the first team squad for next season. But at the same time it is also doing so with that of Barça Atlètic. In this sense, in the absence of official confirmation, the Blaugrana club has finalized the signing of Tudor Mendel-Idowu, according to ‘Jijantes’.
The winger from Chelsea arrives as a free agent at the age of 18. He will sign a contract that will bind him to the Blaugrana club until June 30, 2026. His incorporation, at Deco’s express request, will come to reinforce Juvenil A. But he will also be under the orders of Rafa Márquez at Barça Atlètic.
Last week he already traveled to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. He went there to see the first-hand facilities of the Blaugrana entity. His visit was also important so that he would know what his new job will be.
The official announcement is expected to arrive in the coming days. He will be added to the Barca Atletic alongside the already confirmed Mikayil Faye. The latter aims to travel with the first team on the pre-season tour of the United States.
Tudor Mendel-Idowu has grown up in the Chelsea youth ranks. Ever since he joined the London club at the age of nine. He has not made his debut with the first team. But he has made his debut with Chelsea U21, with U19 and U18. In total, as a professional, he has dressed in ‘blue’ 29 times, scoring 13 goals and distributing six assists.
