The future of Leo Messi looks set. Inter Miami of the MLS is the best positioned to be the team chosen by Messi to continue his career after not renewing with Paris Saint-Germain. Barca has also shown strong interest, even before receiving the OK from LaLiga to the feasibility plan this Tuesday. But the option to play in the MLS has won many integers. The astronomical offer of the Saudi club Al Hilal has been left behind on Messi’s list of preferences.
MD already reported since last week that the decision of Leo, who will turn 36 on June 24, was imminent. He was not willing to let more days go by to define himself. Also Xavi Hernandez, in an interview granted last week, assured that Messi would decide this week.
Inter Miami has been working on the idea of signing him to also promote the MLS ahead ot World Cup-2026, which will take place in USA, Mexico and Canada.
The franchise, founded in 2018, has David Beckham between their owners. The former English footballer was in Paris two weeks ago talking to Messi to insist on the objective of Inter Miami to sign him. Leo knows the city well, and that makes this option the preferred option to continue playing.
