The playoff tie of the Europe League between Barça and the Man Utd generated a multitude of reactions. One of those who wanted to share his thoughts about Barça vs Man Utd was the legendary Paul Scholes.
Scholes scored a great goal that eliminated Barça in the Semi finals of the Champions League back in 2007/8. Furthermore, he also lost vs Barça in 2 Champions League finals.
In a recent interview, he analyzed the match between his old team and the team of Xavi Hernandez. It’s fair to say he’s optimistic about his old team’s chances of going through to the round of 16 Europe League.
Scholes: “I love that Man Utd play against Barça. In games like this the energy flows and there is a good atmosphere. I think they are capable of beating Barcelona,” he said. Howevwr, Scholes then clarified that the Barça is “a very good team”. Moreover, he added: “as much as I want to play against them, they are probably the team you wanted to avoid”.
Manchester to do a ‘preseason’ in Andalusia
During the World Cup in Qatar, Man Utd will carry out a ‘preseason’ through Andalusian lands with the players who remain under the orders of Erik ten Hag. The ‘Red Devils’ will stay at the Hotel Montecastillo in Jerez. This complex has several training camps. Therefore many teams hold pre-seasons there every summer. Then, they are expected to play two friendly games: Against Cadiz at the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium (December 7) and against Betis at the Benito Villamarín (December 10).
