Barca with many casualties, suffered last season to add the three points in Son Moix. But eventually they got them thanks to a single goal from Luuk de Jong, in the first game of this 2022. Now, without the Dutch striker, there are only three players of the current squad who know what it means to score at the Mallorca stadium.
The last azulgrana to score in Mallorca was Jordi Alba. He did thay in the first game after the stoppage forced by the pandemic, in June 2020. Alba was the author of one of the four goals Barça scored in the game (0-4), along with Arturo Vidal, Braithwaite and Leo Messi.
The match three seasons ago was also Barça’s first visit to Mallorca after many years. The last visit before that one was in the 2012/13 season. In that game at Son Moix, Xavi, Messi (2) and Tello scored the gials. A season before, Pique scored one of the two goals in Barça’s triumph in Palma (0-2).
The other player in the current squad who knows what it means to score in Son Moix is Ferran Torres. He did thay as a Valencia player, in the 2019/20 season. In that game he came on from the bench, and scored a single goal (4-1).
