Saturday night: Another Barça victory on the road, this time in Sevilla. Xavi’s Barça have been in a rich vein of form away from home in La Liga. Goals from Raphinha, Lewandowski and Eric Garcia sealed Saturday’s 3-0 win over Sevilla, extending the unbeaten run away from Camp Nou to 15.
Since Xavi took over the reins of the first team, they have yet to record an away defeat in domestic competition: 11 wins and 5 draws.
The victories have come in many of the most difficult stadiums in the country: Villarreal, Mallorca, Alavés, Valencia, Elche, Real Madrid, Levante, Real Sociedad, Betis and, in this new season, Real Sociedad and Sevilla.
The points were shared with Osasuna, Granada, Espanyol and Getafe.
Surprisingly, the home record is worse than the away record: nine wins, one draw and four defeats in La Liga.
However, the record isn’t that good in the rest of the competitions. Xavi’s Barca suffered defeats in the Spanish Super Cup (3-2 against Real Madrid), in the Cup (3-2 against Athletic) and the Champions League (3-0 against Bayern); as well as a draw against Eintracht Frankfurt. The only wins were against Linares, Napoli and Galatasaray.
