Barcelona keep are looking at right-backs for a while now. Today the rumor mill mentioned a few more names as we approach the end of the transfer window.
Achraf Hakimi from PSG and Olympique Lyon’s Malo Gusto are apparently now targets along with Monaco’s Vanderson.
Hakimi seems like a very unlikely candidate. Reminder: he only joined PSG a year ago for a fee of €60 million. They mention loan deal with an option to buy. But it’s not a reliable source at all.
However, in France there’s word that Barca and Manchester United fancy Gusto. L’Equipe are reporting Lyon want to extend his contract. But they might sell if a good offer arrives. He has 2 years left on his contract so that might be a good opportunity for them.
The third name is Vanderson. Diario Sport reckon Mateu Alemany is already on the case and enquired about his availability.
Vanderson is only 21. But he made an impression with Monaco already since moving from Gremio. The Brazilian is less known name. But apparently he has the type of full-back profile that Barcelona are looking for.
Barça are looking for a low-cost option at right-back, due to their ongoing financial issues. After losing Dani Alves and Sergino Dest seemingly not an option for Xavi, a new RB will probably arrive.
Will it be one of these guys? Maybe. They join the list of candidates like Foyth and Meunier, and even Bellerin.
It looks like Foyth is still the bumber 1 target for this summer. But the negotiations for him won’t be easy. At all.
