La Liga starting is just around the corner. Rayo Vallecano will visit Camp Nou on Saturday night in a game which is exciting at Barcelona. Xavi’s side had a great pre-season and thrashed Pumas 6-0 on Sunday. They are ready to dream. However there is one issue: the new signings haven’t been registered yet, nor those who have renewed their deals.
With just five days left to sort it out, the club are working against the clock to register these players. Lewandowski, Christensen, Kessie, Kounde, Raphinha, Dembele and Sergi Roberto. Many will be key players.
Sport reported a few days ago that La Liga rejected Barcelona’s initial proposal over the money they raised to register the players. Therefore, the club is looking for other solutions. Firstly, salary reductions.
Frenkie de Jong’s case is the clearest. The money he is set to earn is too much for Barcelona to pay. The club have been working on two options: leave or pay-cut. For now, the matter is still stuck. The other two pay cuts are for Pique and Sergio Busquets.
🚨 BREAKING: Barcelona are negotiating a new contract with Gerard Piqué. It will be until 2024 with a 'drastic' salary reduction.

Then there are the departures: Braithwaite and Memphis are the most urgent. But the Dane is sticking his heels in. Other names who could leave on loan are Nico and Balde.
Barcelona want Bernardo Silva. But first, they have to register the players they have. Marcos Alonso’s deal has been agreed and he’s on stand-by.
Other solutions
In case the club won’t make it on time with the salary reductions, there are other solutions. One solution is to activate another financial lever. Although the club prefers not to sell more assets, selling another part of the Barca Studios would sort the finances for this season. Moreover, it won’t be a bad move anyways, as the Barca Studios is a company that currently don’t generate a big profit.
Another solution is signing the sleeve sponsor. According to recent rumors, there’s a deal in place for a company that would pay 20m Euros yearly for the sleeve sponsor.

Bottom line is that all those who are concerned with the player registrations can be optimistic. The club has few days to find the best possible solution, and they will find it.
