Gerard Pique has agreed with the board not to earn the pay rise that his deal this year states, as agreed by Josep Maria Bartomeu, when he differed his salary. The defender will lower it and return to the prior conditions on his deal until 2024.
Pique, Ter Stegen, Lenglet and Frenkie de Jong are the four cases.
The defender was the first to accept the deal. SPORT have reported that the last contract Pique signed under Bartomeu was for 28 million euros, with a bonus of 12m euros if he completed the deal. Unviable numbers which Pique will renounce and re-negotiate a new deal.
In sporting terms, he has Araujo, Kounde, Eric and Christensen to battle with and a slim chance of starting, but completely believes he can turn the situation around.
