According to recent rumors, Barcelona president Joan Laporta sent a message to Raphinha from Leeds Utd. The president reassured the Brazilian the club still wants him at the Camp Nou.
According to Diario Sport, the club chief was on the phone with the winger to let him know they will try to bring him in on a five-year deal in this summer transfer window.
Laporta wanted to let Raphinha know that the Catalans have the financial power to sign him after club members voted to authorize the sale of merchandizing and television rights.
Raphinha was also informed that Barca’s plan is to add him and Robert Lewandowski to the attack in time for the 2022-23 campaign.
Still a chance to seal the Raphinha deal
Rumors of a possible move to Barcelona had gone a little quiet recently. But it seems the operation is still alive despite interest from EPL clubs.
Sport reports that Barcelona have reactivated talks with the Whites. Meanwhile, Leeds dropped their asking price from €65 million to €50m. Barça are hoping to pay a fee closer to €40m.
This morning, @FabrizioRomano assured that Leeds United have no plans to change their €55m price tag. Barcelona need to be quick if they are to sign Raphinha as English clubs like Arsenal are back in the race – but no official offer has been made yet.
