Bernardo Silva’s name keeps on popping up in the rumor mill regarding a possible move to Barcelona this summer.
The latest update comes from COPE: According to them, Barcelona are confident they can land the midfielder before the start of next season.
Barcelona have also made sure that Bernardo’s agent Jorge Mendes is aware of this and have urged patience ahead of what could be a long summer.
According to many reports, Bernardo is on a move to Barcelona, and Pep Guardiola didn’t completely rule out a summer exit when he spoke about his midfielder yesterday:

The report also reckons Bernardo has a “verbal agreement” with Pep. He can leave if a “good offer” from Barcelona comes in. What is a ‘good offer’? According to @FabrizioRomano, Manchester City’s asking price to sell Bernardo Silva is around €85m-€95m.
Bernardo deal Depends on De Jong Leaving
Yet any Barcelona move for Bernardo would seemingly depend on Frenkie de Jong leaving the Camp Nou this summer. And this is something the midfielder is currently reluctant to do.
According to @ffpolo [md], Xavi likes de Jong but he likes Bernardo Silva more. The characteristics of an interior which Xavi wants is not offered by any midfielder in the squad, apart from Pedri, but Bernardo does. Moreover, Xavi knows that Bernardo is open to joining Barça.
COPE also say there’s no chance of a Bernardo-Frenkie swap. Manchester City aren’t interested in the Dutchman. However, we already know that Manchester United the club that want him.
The Red Devils are thought to be preparing a new offer for the Netherlands international. If it’s high enough there’s a strong possibility that Barca will accept it.
Then of course it would all be down to De Jong. Whether he will stand firm in his desire to remain at the Camp Nou or decide he’s willing to accept a transfer away.
