A few days in from our very last game, it’s back to action for Flick’s Barca side, this time in, quite possibly, our biggest game for a while now. It’s a key game in the UEFAChampions league, and considering the run of form, it’s a really huge match. At 9pm local time, we play in Germany. Most specifically at one of the most iconic stadiums in world football. The yellow wall. Otherwise knows as the home to Borussia Dortmund. Coming into the game, looking at the form of the respective teams, it looks pretty even. But for us especially, tonight is a huge game. We haven’t been doing well in recent games, so this is going to be a great test for this young and exciting Barça side.
A Quick Look at our opponents:
As I mentioned above, the respective form of both sides look fairly similar coming into the game, so you could say it’s a very even game. Also, in the new look champions league table, both Barca and Dortmund are in the same number of points. So that just adds to the tension and pressure. Dortmund have some brilliant talents, including Gitten. Who has really started to find his form in recent months. Players like Adeyemi, Brandt and Schlotterbeck add to the quality of this team. With Kobel in goal, it means that Dortmund are a very solid side. They’ve got pace on the counter and the ability to make runs in behind so it’s going to be a very difficult test for Flick’s Barca side, which in recent games has looked a little fatigued. Our away support, even in its minority, is going to be very important later tonight.
Predicted lineup:
Again, when it comes to the lineup, I don’t think there will be many changes from the side that started in the weekend. Maybe flick might decide to make a couple tweaks, but I personally don’t feel like there will be much of a change. Lewandowski will start against one of his former teams, with the brilliance of Yamal and Raphinha on the wings. Pedri and Casado in the midfield. Olmo could possibly get roryated for Gavi. Who’s fight and energy in this game could be the difference. One huge piece of news however is the return of Ronald Araujo. Although he’s unlikely to play any minute in the game tonight, it’s still incredibly exciting to see his name on the squad list again.
My starting 11:
Peña
Kounde- Cubarsi- Iñigo- Balde
Pedri- Casado
Yamal- Gavi- Raphinha
Lewandowski
