Only a few days on from our impressive and important win against Bayern Munich in midweek, we’re back in action yet again. And this time, it really is the big one. The game that needs no introduction. At 9pm local time, Live from the Santiago Bernabéu, it’s Barça against our eternal rivals Real Madrid. It’s El Clásico.
A Quick Look at our opponents:
We’ve had an incredibly tough week so far and at the end of it, we face our fiercest rivals, Real Madrid. They’re a team that need no intoxication. Everyone knows what their about, the talent they possess and the threat they carry. Of course the eyes will be on Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham. They’re the poster boys of this Real Madrid side, but of course we can’t forget about players such as Valverde who always turn up in these kind of games, as well as members of the back line like Rudiger and Eder Militao. Guler and Endrick off the bench can create trouble for us too. It’s a stacked squad and it’s not going to be a straight forward game at all. It’s 1st against second in La Liga and it’s another massive game for Barcelona. We’re going to have to be at our very best to get a result away at the Bernabéu. Let’s have a look at how we will possibly set up for the game.
Predicted lineup:
When it comes to Barcelona, I don’t really think they’ll be many changes from the team that was fielded against Bayern in midweek. It’s still too early to throw Gavi or Frenkie straight back in the starting lineup. So I think things will remain familiar. The only question is whether or not Fermin Lopez keeps his place in the team after a great performance against Bayern. Or if Flick chooses to put Dani Olmo in the lineup instead. Either choice is a good one, so it’s going to be up to Flick to decide. Personally, I think Olmo will get the start, but again, Fermin has made a great case too. The backline will and should remain the same, as well as the 2 pivot roles. Casado and Pedri have formed a great understanding with each other and we should keep that the same. Gavi, Frenkie, Ansu and Pau Víctor will all most likely get minutes off the bench and it’s great to have that power coming off the bench, especially in such a huge game like this one.
