It’s only just the beginning of October and the schedule is already packed up. 3 days after our last La Liga game, Barça are back in action again tonight. This time in a huge game in the champions league. At home to Swiss side, Young Boys. It’s a key game, a highly important game and one that we need to be at our very best for. So let’s jump straight into the preview.
A Quick Look at our opponents:
When we’re looking at our opponents for tonight’s game, Young Boys are a different side to one we’ve faced all season. Having struggled at the beginning of the season in their own domestic league, they’ll be out to prove a point. Which is why we can’t afford to take them lightly and underestimate them at all. They’re almost a staple side in the champions league Now, having featured in the competition pretty much every year. So they’ve got the experience. No matter how much they might be struggling, they’re a side who knows this competition well. There’s not much else to say it’s just a huge game for us tonight, regardless of the opponent, it’s one of those European nights again. So let’s see how Flick could possibly lineup tonight.
Predicted lineup:
So, as we move onto thinking about the possible lineup for tonight’s huge game, I think it’s pretty simple to guess what our coach Flick will go. He’s gonna go strong. And after the weekend, having rested a whole draft of players, we can afford to do that now. And we need to, it’s as simple as that. The backline in that regard picks itself. With Balde and Kounde on the flanks either Iñigo and Cubarsi partnered in the middle. In midfield, I believe we’ll see Pedri and Casado in the double pivot role after Eric got a red card in the last game. The only question for me, would be who plays in the number 10 role. Pablo Torre has payed their recently and has impressed, but Raphinha could also possibly play there too in a more central role. If that’s the case, then that leaves room for someone different on the left hand side. For me, I’d love to see Ansu Fati start from the left or even Pau Victor. But Ferran Torres doesn’t deserve to be in the starting lineup after such a disappointing performance on the weekend. Lewandowski, of course, is the main man upfront.
My starting 11:
Pena
Kounde- Cubarsi- Iñigo- Balde
Casado- Pedri
Yamal- Raphinha- Ansu
Lewandowski
