It’s the final game before the international break. And once again, it’s yet another massive game. This time in La Liga. At 9pm local time, live from the Metropolitano, it’s Barça Vs Atlético Madrid.
A very tough team, especially away from home. So like I said, Atlètico is going to be a very big test for this Barça side. Both teams are fresh off a really impressive week in Europe. For us of course, we managed to beat the reigning Italian champions and book our place in the quarter finals of the champions league.
Whilst our opponents for tonight, Atleti, turned around their situation against Inter. Beating them 2-1 on the night and knocking them out in pens. So both of us will be coming into tonight’s game with good feelings. Which makes life even more difficult for us. It’s going to be a difficult game, away at a tricky stadium, so let’s jump straight into it.
A Quick Look at our opponents:
Atleti have a really impressive team. With some familiar faces, like Memphis and Griezmann. And then there are others who are just pure quality like Morata, Barrios, De Paul , Molina etc. So all across the board, they’ve got a very strong team.
Simeone, the coach, is obviously well experienced and will set the team up in a way which will be very difficult to break down. Games between us two are never high scoring and that sums it up really. Like I’ve said, they’re fresh off a positive mid week so they’ll be confident coming into this game.
However, given our week, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be coming into this game positive too. With the aim of going into the international break with good vibes.
Predicted lineup:
As far as the lineup goes, I think it will remain fairly similar to how we lined up versus Napoli. The only one or 2 changes I could see would be Yamal getting some rest. And Felix rejoining the attack. Yamal i think deserves some rest now. He’s a freak, but we need to remember he’s still only 16. He looked exhausted after the Napoli game, so I would start him from the bench tonight. But bring him on against tired legs.
Felix will be very motivated against his parent club, so he’s a guarantee for me. Roberto might start after his really impressive cameo against Napoli. However I’d keep it with Fermin. After his great performance and goal against Napoli. As for the rest of the team, I can see it remaining the same. It’ll be cool to see Roque get some minutes away at the Wanda too. It’s a game that could suit his physicality really well.
My starting lineup:
Ter Stegen
Kounde- Araújo- Cubarsi- Canceló
Fermín- Christensen- Gundogan
Raphinha- Lewandowski- Félix
