Brazilian shot-stopper Neto(33 years old) ended his contract with FC Barcelona last summer. He signed for the English side Bournemouth in Premier League. It helped Barcelona to lighten the team’s wage bill and register players. But, now Barca will have to pay the club Valencia CF, four million euros.
According to Cadena SER’s report, these four million euros were already set up in the transfer negotiations during the Neto-Cillesen operation under the previous board. The Catalans then agreed to pay in full if Neto was sold or transferred. But Barca argued that they did not have to pay anything to Valencia as Neto was terminated from his contract. He was neither sold nor loaned out. But the above information indicates that there is an out-of-court settlement which speaks for the Valencianistas that they would collect four million from the Catalan side.
Barcelona had already paid three million euros for Neto. But now they have to pay additional amount of four million euros to Valencia CF. Meanwhile the club is already struggling to sign players.
These type of deals are the indication of all the shady businesses done under Bartomeu era, which still ceases to haunt the current board and the club in such a dire situation.
