Barcelona’s jewels have renewed. Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal have given the go-ahead to their renewals before going on tour. They passed by Mateu Alemany’s office hours before boarding the plane, to review the contracts, agreed by the agent of both players, Jorge Mendes. It is a joy for all Barcelona fans to know that two of their pearls have been sealed. Balde will renew until 2028 and Lamine Yamal until 2026. Although the renewals have been reviewed and signed, they will not be announced until the team returns from the U.S. tour on August 2.
Lamine Yamal, just turned 16 years old on July 13. Now he can sign his first professional contract. The player only wants to succeed in the culé team and so he let his agent know, just to hear the team’s offer. By regulation, the player can only sign for three years, until 2026.
On the other hand, Alejandro Balde took a little longer to negotiate, mostly because of his agent. Balde only wanted to listen to Barça’s offer, English teams were interested in him. One of them was Manchester City, who offered him a salary that doubled that offered by the Blaugrana. Thanks to his desire to succeed in the team that saw him grow and gave him confidence. He rejected the offer of the Citizen team. Yesterday he signed his renewal for 5 years, until 2028.
The board of directors and the fans can be calmer now that they have secured two jewels of present and future. Mateu and Deco will get down to work with the exit operation. If all the planned departures are fulfilled, two more players may arrive.
