Barça continue their summer rebuild. So far it includes signing of Spanish Centre back Inigo Martinez, and German Midfielder Ilkay Gündogan. The Spanish champions are now reportedly looking forward to offer a new contract renewal to their Star German Shotstopper Ter Stegen. His current contract ends in June of 2025.

The new contract of Ter Stegen is rumored to be a 3 further year extension till 2028. By that time the Goalkeeper will be 35. The main talking point however remains the salary. The goalkeeper from Mönchengladbach, being the one of the two players alongside Frenkie de Jong to be on “Josep Maria Bartemou”- Type contracts. The Blaugranas are looking to either defer or reduce ter Stegen’s salary. This will help them with their financial conditions and register the new arrivals
With this contract extension it is fair to assume that the Catalan side is tying Marc Andre ter Stegen down till his eventual retirement. And if we go by his last record breaking season it is evident why so.
