Ousmane Dembele and Jules Koundé are the two Barça players who reached the final of the Qatar World Cup. France defeated (2-0) Morocco, the great revelation of the tournament, in the semifinals. Therefore, the ‘Tricolor’ will face Argentina in the final on Sunday.
The two Barça players played as starters. The defender, completing the entire match and avoiding a Moroccan goal on the same goal line. The winger played 79 minutes and did well. Now, we can expect both Kounde and Dembele to start in the final on Sunday, December 18 (4:00 p.m. CET).
The World Cup had started with 17 Barça players. However, only two reached the semifinals. Both were crucial for Didier Deschamps’ team.
Dembele played in all the World Cup matches, where he has given two assists. The only match in which the Barca winger was not a starter was against Tunisia in the group stage. However, France were mathematically classified at that point. He has played 393 minutes. Koundé started as a substitute and is now the starting right-back for the French, playing 362 minutes.
The grand final on Sunday, December 18 will be played at the Lusail stadium against Argentina with the ex Barcelona Leo Messi. The legend will look for the only title that is missing from his extraordinary career. For the French it will be their second consecutive final.
