The surprising defeat of Denmark (1-0) vs Australia left the Nordic team without the option of accessing the round of 16 of the top competition for national teams. Now Christensen will take a few days off before rejoining Barça’s work discipline. Although the culé team will resume their training next December 5th, Xavi Hernandez already warned that he would take into account that his World Cup players would need extra rest, even more mental than physical. Especially those who have not met a minimum objective with their team. Thus, it is most likely that the Christensen will have at least a few additional days off, around a week, after the disappointment with Denmark.
Barça, leader of the League, will play their next match on the last day of the year, on December 31in front of Espanyol in the Camp Nou (14 hours). As the World Cup progresses, the idea is that the Barça internationals who stay on the road will also have extra time to unload their heads and legs.
At the moment, among the culés, Dembélé, Koundé, Memphis and De Jong are already in the next round.
