Gerard Pique will probably start in his final game at Camp Nou. The decision is in Xavi Hernandez’s hands. But it must also be taken into account that there are injured players in the squad, especially in Pique’s position.
In Friday’s training session, for example, neither Jules Koundé nor Eric Garcia were present (at least for the first quarter of an hour) after both picked up knocks vs. Valencia at the Mestalla. They did not play in the Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen and if they do not train on Friday it seems unlikely that they will be able to play against Almería.
Eric Garcia is part of the squad fir this game. Kounde isn’t. But it’s fair to say that Eric should only play if it’s an emergency.
Pique would likely start alongside Marcos Alonso or Christensen, who is training normally after a recent injury. Pique, in that case, would have the best farewell possible because he would say goodbye playing from the start at an almost sold-out Camp Nou.
