Barça are preparing a renewal offer for Alejandro Balde for weeks now. It’s an absolute priority after a brilliant start to the season for the La Masia graduate. Balde’s contract ends in 2024, so the Barça board of directors wants to sign a new contract with him as soon as possible.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barça will meet with Balde’s agent, Jorge Mendes and offer the young defender a five-year contract extension and a considerable salary increase. In this way, the Barcelona winger would extend his contract until 2027.
Regarding Balde’s release clause, Barça would like to raise it to one billion euros in his new contract. This already happened with the renewals of Pedri, Gavi and Ansu Fati. For their part, Koundé and Ferran Torres also signed their contract with a release clause of one billion euros.
So far, Alejandro Balde is the great revelation of Barcelona this season. The young defender over the left back position in the Barcelona team, acting on the left or right back indistinctly.
The progression of the young 19-year-old player is being meteoric, to such an extent that Luis Enrique did not hesitate to include him in the squad for the World Cup in Qatar after the injury to Gaya. The Spanish full-back managed to debut with a note on the first day of the World Cup in the duel against Costa Rica (7-0), generating the occasion of the fifth goal of the Spanish team.
