Sergi Roberto’s injury looked bad. Official updates today

At the final minutes of the game last night, Sergi Roberto left the pitch on a stretcher due to a shoulder injury. It’s a shame as he did very well in Barcelona’s 4-0 win against Athletic Club at Camp Nou on Sunday.

The man from Reus produced one of his best games in recent years. He scored the second Barça goal, but then had to leave the pitch late on.

Barça coach Xavi Hernandez already exhausted the five changes he had. Therefore, Barça were left with 10 players for the final few minutes.

Today the club’s doctors will check Sergi’s shoulder and then we’ll have an idea of how many matches he’ll miss. Normally, a player with dislocated shoulder should be back after 2-3 weeks. But possible nerve or tissue damage might make this injury worse.

Anyways, it looks like Sergi Roberto will miss at least most of the remaining matches until the World Cup.
