The international break proved once again: Raphinha is Brazil’s indisputable starting winger on the right, above Antony and Rodrygo. TIte made that clear, with two months to go until the start of the World Cup in Qatar. The winger started his life in Barcelona well and he thrived against Ghana in Brazil’s 3-0 friendly win. The friendly also helped Richarlison position himself as the team’s No 9 ahead of the World Cup.
Tonight, Brazil will meet Tunisia, and the Brazilian coach, Tite, confirmed that Barcelona asked to monitor the minutes of Raphinha. With ‘Vitus FIFA’ already hurting the squad, the club just want to see all the players come back fit and ready.
Antony, who came on for Vinicius, operated on the left for a few minutes. The Manchester United winger is Raphinha’s backup, however. And Rodrygo, who has been starting for Real Madrid, is also set to go, as a reserve for his club team-mate Vinicius.
The other player who will have a big role in the attack is, of course, Neymar. He should be in the number 10 role, with Raphinha and Vinicius in both wings.
