Barca play their third La Liga game at home to the newly-promoted side after a great win away to Real Sociedad.
Real Valladolid
Valladolid returns to La Liga after gaining promotion. Ronaldo(R9) is the majority stake owner in this professional football club based in Castile and Leon. They have begun their new campaign with one draw and one loss, coming against Sevilla and Villareal respectively. Barca have won fourteen of their last fifteen meetings against Valladolid with the loss coming in 2014.
Barca’s away form under Xavi has been brilliant in La Liga(still undefeated), but the home form has been wildly inconsistent and at times even poor. Barca haven’t scored a goal in their previous two home games which is abysmal. Camp Nou must be returned to the fortress it used to be.
The Coach
Real Valladolid are coached by Juan Jose Rojo Martin( known as Pacheta). He’s a former Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for several clubs in La Liga. He has a win percentage of 43.01%. He prefers using a 4-3-3 or a 4-1-4-1 formation. Pacheta has previously coached Elche and Huesca as well.
The big news coming out of the Barca camp is that Jules Kounde has finally been registered and is ready to play against Valladolid. It’ll be nice to finally see him get some minutes. We’re into the last few days of the summer transfer window and as always there is plenty of drama. The team must remain focused on the task at hand which is to make sure silly slip-ups and dropping points doesn’t occur. This season will be brutal with a tough Champions League group stage and the World Cup as well.
No rest for the wicked.
Visca el Barca!
