Francisco Trincao’s time as a FC Barcelona player comes to a close. The Portuguese winger passed the medical with Sporting de Portugal earlier in the day, according to ‘A Bola’. The transfer should be official in the next few hours. Afterwards, the player will join the Lisbon team, which is carrying out their pre-season tour in Lagos (Algarve).
If everything goes as per plan, Trincao will sign with Sporting today. With the deals signed and the details sorted out, the procedures are almost wrapped up, so the Portuguese winger could train under Rúben Amorim from this Tuesday, on the eve of the preseason match against Belgian side Saint-Gilloise. However, unless there is a major surprise, the Blaugrana winger is unlikely take part in the match.
Journalist Matteo Moretto reported this weekend that Sporting Portugal will pay 10 million euros for Trincao’s transfer: three now and seven at the end of the 2022/23 season, the Catalans retaining 50% of future sales of the 22-year-old. He will sign a five-year contract and, during the first three seasons, Barça will be able to exercise a buy-back clause of 15, 17.5 and 20 million euros, respectively.
The Portuguese winger arrived to Barcelona as a big promise. However, he didn’t do well in the last two seasons. Hopefully, in Sporing he will have a chance to be back at top form.
Good Luck!
