The arrival of the Brazilian increased the competition for the Right Wing starting spot. Against Juve Raphinha enjoyed a clear chance to score with an accurate free-kick from the edge of the box. It was only a slight deflection from Perín that prevented a goal.
The former Leeds United player has a great ability to shoot from medium to long range. The control, power and precision of his strikes make him a serious and solid candidate for free kicks the coming season. Now without Leo Messi, the team needs someone to make the most of set pieces. And Raphinha put his hand up.
Raphinha already showed in the EPL his ability to shoot from long range. During his 2 years in Yorkshire County, he scored seven goals from out of the box. Only Southampton and England’s James Ward-Prowse managed a higher tally (9) during the same period.
