Raphinha is set to become the third Barcelona signing of the summer in the coming hours. The Blaugrana and Leeds agreed a fee of 55 million euros plus 10 million in variables. Therefore the Brazilian player will head to Catalonia shortly.
He has permission from his club to come to Spain and he will have his medical and sign his contract for the next five seasons.
They’ve had a deal practically since Friday but discussions in the last few hours have focused on the variables and on what delay Barcelona might be granted in paying, as they wait to activate their second financial lever.
The idea is that Raphinha lands in Barcelona on Wednesday. He will be available for the club’s tour of the USA.
Now that both Raphinha and Dembele are set to be part of the squad, Xavi will have his wingers. With Ansu, Ferran, Auba and probably Lewandowski, the team will have huge squad depth.
The players that might have to leave in that case are Memphis Depay and EZ Abde. Both of them will have to look for minutes elsewhere.
EZ Abde might leave on loan, as the club does see him as a prospect. But Memphis, who only has 1 year left on his contract, might have to leave permanently. According to recent rumors, he might be part of the deal with Sevilla to land Kounde in Barcelona. Let’s see.
