Alejandro Balde and Ilaix started pre-season with Barcelona B on Monday. Alejandro Baldé‘s case is similar to Ilaix. Baldé’s contract is due to expire in 2022 and he hasn’t renewed it yet. His agent is Jorge Mendes. Thus Barça put pressure on him to renew by not involving him in pre-season.
However, today @gerardromero reported that Alejandro Balde joined the training of the first team. Moreover, @martinezferran said: Yesterday Alejandro Baldé’s representatives reached an agreement with the club for re-negotiated contract renewal.
If nothing goes wrong his renewal will be closed before the end of the month. Barcelona want to secure his future first and trust him to be Jordi Alba’s back-up next season.
Junior Firpo’s departure and Barcelona not signing a new left-back provides a great opportunity to young Alejandro Baldé.
He joined La Masia 10 years ago and has great attacking abilities but still needs to work on defending and positioning.
The case of Ilaix Moriba
Ilaix Moriba started the pre-season with Barça B yesterday, waiting to solve his future. According to @martinezferran, Ilaix was not aware of the decision to start pre-season with the B instead of the first team.
His environment don’t understand the decision as they consider to be still in full negotiation with the club.
Barcelona are surprised and disappointed – with the reaction of Ilaix Moriba’s environment. At the club they can’t understand, why so many days passed to request a meeting with the club to discuss the contract renewal.
In addition the player representatives asked to meet with the club at the end of the week, despite the player knowing on Thursday about the decision to sen him back to Barcelona B.
First renewal offer from the club was rejected. However the club didn’t receive a counter offer from the player’s representatives for weeks.
The club points to the case of Alejandro Balde who in 24 hours solved his future.
Ilaix Moriba insists to his environment and asks to resolve this situation as soon as possible.
Koeman loves him, and follows his progression since last season. He would have options to start many games next season.
