So, the contracts of four of La Masia’s greatest talents run out today and despite loads of interest from Europe’s elite, they still haven’t renewed. Here’s the situation of the four, according to @albert_roge:
Ansu Fati, 16 years old, Juvenil A
Perhaps the talent of the season. Barça went from being a signature away from his renewal to nothing. He wants to be valued higher off the pitch by the club, and the negotiations could drag on the entire summer. Highly wanted in Europe.
Alejandro Marques, 18 years old, Juvenil A
The striker is closer to leaving Barça than staying. He has very attractive offers and is waiting for the club’s offer. He and Ansu know teammate Ilaix’ huge contract numbers (reportedly 666k/yr) — they believe they shouldn’t get less.
Alejandro Balde, 16 years old, Juvenil B
The rapid LB, started at Cadet A, promoted throughout the season. Fixed player at Spain U16, has had a tremendous season. The interest of PL clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea have effected him but Barça believe they can reverse the situation.
Xavi Simons, 16 years old, Cadet A
The midfielder has also had a season to be very proud of but his renewal has been stalled for now. Moreover, according to reports Barça won’t promote him directly to Juvenil A as seen in other cases. Therefore, he’ll play at Juvenil B next season should he stay.
