Barcelona midfielder Pedri was thrilled after scoring twice in Spain’s commanding 6-0 win over Turkey in the World Cup qualifiers on Sunday night.
La Roja displayed exceptional form as they easily overpowered the hosts. Pedri found the back of the net twice, Mikel Merino achieved a hat-trick, and Ferran Torres added to the tally in a dominant victory.
Here’s what Pedri had to say after the match:
“It was a perfect match. We brought intensity from the start. Credit goes to the team, which came out with everything,” he told Teledeporte.
“We were mentally prepared for a tough game, knowing they would push hard, so we came out strong from the beginning, and that’s what happened. We dominated from the start.
“Every time I score, it feels like I’m scoring a brace, but I’m happy about the win and helping the team. The goals are secondary.”
Pedri has kicked off the season in spectacular form and was outstanding once again on Sunday. He will now return to Barcelona to prepare for next weekend’s clash against Valencia.
