Another weekend, another mid afternoon kick off in La Liga. This time around, its away in sunny Seville, live from the Estadio Benito Villamarin in Betis, It’s Barça against Real Betis, at 4:15pm local time. It’s the second game of the new month and our second consecutive La Liga game of the week. Yet another difficult test in the league, as it was against Mallorca a few days ago. Games against Real Betis are always entertaining, goals are pretty much guaranteed and in abundance too. It’s not going to be an easy game for us, especially considering not only is is it an afternoon game, but its another tough away game in the league. So lets jump straight into the preview:
A Quick Look at our opponents:
As mentioned above, games against Betis are always fun to watch, goals are guaranteed and its always a fight for Barca to get a good result, especially away from home. Still coached by the experienced Manuel Pellegrini, Betis are sitting comfortably mid table, only a couple points off the top half. They’re also a team that hosts a lot of familiar faces. Marc Bartra and Abde are firm staples in the team. And of course the big name, is none other than Vitor Roque. The young Brazilian talent bought by Barca late last year and introduced to the first team in January 2024. However things didn’t go as planned for him and unfortunately finds himself out on loan at Betis for at least the next season. But i think to difficult to see him wanting to come back. There’s also no fear clause in the contract for him at Betis, which means he will most likely start against his parent club later this afternoon.
Predicted lineup:
As for the lineup, again, I don’t think there will be too many changes from the team that beat Mallorca in midweek. The defence will most likely keep the same, and i would also imagine Lewandowski getting back into the starting lineup, after he was rested in midweek. Again, like most weeks, the only real question is in the midfield. There’s talk in the media about the possibility of Pedri being rested. Which means Gavi will most likely replace him, alongside Casado. That right there is an exciting midfield prospect. And then id expect Dani Olmo to keep his place in the number 10 position, with the usual magic coming from Lamine on the right and Raphinha on the left.
My starting 11:
Pena
Kounde- Cubarsi- Iñigo- Balde
Casado- Gavi
Yamal- Olmo- Raphinha
Lewandowski
